so the new job is going pretty well.
i get along really well with the guy i work with.
he's younger than me! eeek! by four years.
we have similar personalities, though, in some ways and can joke around and he doesn't act like my boss, but like a co-worker, so that's cool.
i've done a lot of writing already and have two big stories i'm working on right now.
i'm enjoying it so far, just having a bit of a problem adjusting to the new schedule.
for the past year i've been workin 10-3 5 days a week...staying up really late and sleeping until 8:30am, then coming home at 3 and often taking nap in the afternoon.
now i get up at 6am and there's no time for naps.
i'm really tired but i'll get used to it in a couple weeks.
my body seems to set its internal alarm clock and readjust sleeping schedules rather quickly.
tomorrow is going to be a long day.
i'm looking forward to the weekend to catch up on some sleep, letter writing and fiction writing.

xoxo,
e.

so i've got the weekend to spend as a slovenly lazy ass and then the reality of full-time work starts on monday.
i have to be there at 7:30!!!
that's just obscene and should be illegal.
it won't be 7:30 every day, thank god, just the first day.
i hope the guy i'll be working with isn't a jackass or i'll have to kill him.
i did all my paperwork and shit on thursday.
signed up for a discounted subscription to the newspaper so i'll look like a nice, model employee (i think it's stupid, though, 'cause i can read the paper for free at work...but...whatever).
sigend up for a discount membership to the YMCA so i can get my fat ass a little less fat.
they just built a huge new aquatic center, so i can just splash around in the water and try to convince myself i'm exercising.

i'm used to staying up so late 'cause my hours have been 10am-3pm for a year.
i'm going to have to go to bed a lot earlier to be able to get up and not be a total bitch in the morning.
i should have been practicing the past couple weeks or so, going to bed earlier and earlier, getting up earlier and earlier.
but, no, i wanted to enjoy it while it lasted and stay up as late as i possibly could.

i've got so much shit to do this weekend, but it's so dreary and dark and foggy and damn i just want to lay on the couch under a blanket and read a book and cuddle with my kitties.

i've tried this blog/online journal thing a million times and seem to always lose interest after a while and quit updating, etc...
this time, however, i am determined to keep up with it!
i start my new reporter job on monday and this is going to significantly cut down on my free time, which will mean i'll have a harder time keeping in touch with my friends and penpals.
i thought keeping an online journal would help to keep us all connected during busy times when i may not be able to write as often as i'd like, etc...
so that's the plan for this journal, and i hope lots of my friends will read it and add me to their friends lists on here=)

xoxo,
e.
